Name a movie that you enjoyed, and one reason why you liked it.

I'll start off with Evita starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas. I like the music. We watched it (on DVD) during dinner. I wasn't able to finish watching it because my mother wanted to watch something else so now I am listening to the soundtrack on Napster.

I meant to reply to this long ago, well, better late than never! I've always avoided the movie version of Evita, because I saw it on Broadway and got soundtrack ages ago and I'm afraid the movie will "ruin" Evita for me. It's silly, maybe I'd love it. I like Madonna well enough, bought the Like a Virgin album back in the day.

We saw Inception tonight. Tight script, well acted, and I loved how the score sets the mood. In spite of the futuristic aspects and such, it felt like an old fashioned thriller to me.

The Sound and Fury.

I watched this as an assignment for my American Sign Language I class. I loved the little deaf girl who wanted a cochlear implant in order to hear. I loved watching the sign language. It was very interesting to hear the different arguments for and against cochlear implant, as well as how the deaf community views itself and their inability to hear. I was able to glimpse what the deaf community was like, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I had always wondered what happened to the little girl and her desire for a cochlear implant. I found out, several years later, that there was a follow-up documentary about this family. Apparently both the little girl and her mother ended up getting a cochlear implant, and the girl (not so little now) is happy with it. The DVD itself cost more than I was willing to pay to watch, but I would one day like to see it.

Thomas badgered me into seeing Dinner for Schmucks. I would have denied liking it, but I was laughing so much he would not have believed me. There weren't a lot of other people in the theater, but the ones there were laughing just as hard as we were. So I don't know why the user reviews I've seen for it are so bad.
